Welcome to Ranson Elementary School

Dear Families,

I hope you and your family had the opportunity to relax a little this summer, while making lasting memories. As we approach the start of the 2020 – 2021 school year, we are faced with many thoughts that bring anxiety, fear, or unsettledness to our daily lives. Please know that YOU are not alone and that “we are all in this together.” One of the many things I have learned so far about the Ranson community is that Ranson Elementary is a catalyst and cornerstone for the community and that WE are in this TOGETHER. WE are here to not only educate your student, but to support and assist each student and family as our own.

We are a school that is centered around the individual child. A school that takes the time get to know each of our students and assure their academic and social needs are being achieved. We are a school that has some of the most dedicated, talented, resourceful teachers around who truly care about our students. Together, we can achieve greatness.

Spring 2020, and continuing through today, has challenged each of us to find and accept our “new normal” way of life. Over the coming days, information will be posted on our school website to inform you of Ranson Elementary’s re-entry plan. Through this correspondence, you will find guidance on arrival and dismissal procedures, health and safety protocols, visitor information, and information regarding what the instructional day will look like for students attending school virtually, or in-person. Together, we will work to achieve solidarity and that each one of us are supported and cared for.

I want to take a moment to thank our custodial staff, academic coaches, Title I Facilitator, parent involvement associate, and many other staff members who put in extra hours to assure Ranson Elementary is ready to open our doors to students in the coming weeks.

In closing, please join me in acknowledging one of the most devoted educational experts in the field. Someone who works tirelessly each day to build a strong home-school connection, a wealth of community support, and works hard to assure that quality individualized education is being received daily by the students of Ranson Elementary. Let us together say “Congratulations” and wish Mrs. Corbett well as she transitions into retirement from the world of education after 39 years in the field. Mrs. Corbett’s devotion, love, and passion for her school, community, and students will always be honored and appreciated. Thank you, Mrs. Corbett, for all that you do!
